Our Owl story has come to an end. My engineering prowess did not extend to owl box tree mounts:
Amazingly, owlet seemed ok:
After a few days of Mom nesting, baby wandered off:
Mom was always nearby:
I thought I was keeping a safe distance but learned again that Mom is VERY protective! Bard owls have 4 talons and can move one of the 3 front ones to the back for a better grip:
Unfortunately, after about a week, a rainstorm caught the owlet out without Mom. Without developed feathers, she/he got too cold and didn’t make it through the night.
In less interesting news, I rebuilt my creek plumbing, upgrading to bigger pipe for better flow:
Also repositioned my dining table to better absorb the forest vibes:
And hacked in a cheap electronic paper shelf label to display house stuff:

That owl is a warrior !
Indeed … and I am the warrior-ee 🙂
Your monthly review never ceases to delight and amaze me: Thankyou.
OK – so you are your Mother’s son when I see the trees in your dining room, and you are your Father’s son with all that tech and the awesome photos! 😊 Amused at slow mo of owl box falling… So sad 😞 about Owlet. 😥
