I found a total of one cicada this year, not much brooding here, along with a yet unidentified biologic (update, looks like a oothecas, a Praying mantis eggs pod ):
A couple identified non-biologics requested portraits:
We were on the ‘bad’ (right hand) side of Hurrican Francine. 9″ of rain and enough wind to knock down a big neighboring hickory which dominoed onto a pine, maple, and finally an oak tree which found my power line. My chainsaw and I had fun for a few days:
I hacked my video surveillance code to better summarize clips. This shows me rucking and doing dorky morning aerobics:
My melanoma excision has healed. The biopsy came back with ‘clear margins’ so hopefully ‘one and done’!
I tested google photos search, asking it to find arm wrestling photos:
Closing with some pretty pics imported from my WA family enjoying outdoor beauty:

I always enjoy your monthly sharing of observations and activities. Almost as good as your Monday morning coffee jokes!
Thanks Tom!
Glad to hear good news about the melanoma site!!! we are so dry here, harvest has been a real challenge, but 9″ is too much for sure!!! the smoke from all the wild fires has also been difficult from time to time… but I’m glad you are doing well.. love your posts… they remind me of the weekly newsletter your folks always did!!! take care, genie
Sorry to hear of all that smoke. Dad’s weekly letter was the inspiration for this blog! Not quite up to his standard though, I only have enough gumption (one of his favorite words) for once a month.
