We lost Mom on 11/03, age 92. She had a few serious declines over the last year, bouncing back to her cheerful self, but not this time. She was gone in less than a week, passing peacefully.
Scott found some great photos and Sue wrote a lovely obit, all uploaded to Stevenson’s web site . You can find Dad there also and photos of him here.
It is a hard thing to fully capture someone, especially someone as wonderful as Mom. But thanks in part to Dad’s interest in photography, we have many great photos to choose from.
A couple of pre-Dad photos from Canada. With siblings Ben and Rachel and a swimsuit photo:
She met Dad as a nurse in Chicago:
She was a very photogenic bride:
It didn’t take long for us rugrats to find them:
Camping was one of our favorite family activities:
She was a stylish dresser and knew how to rule a kitchen:
We always enjoyed gathering with her siblings:
Always up for adventure:
An exuberant Grandmother:
And a wonderful wife:
She was a great storyteller:
We were lucky to have her.
Bruce
This is lovely, Bruce. She is missed but was deeply loved.
Love all these photos! The story telling – always the hero! ❤️
she will be missed. And loved.
Beth was a pivotal part of my life. She was an exemplary example of a Godly woman, wife, and mother and to me a precious and guiding friend. I am better for knowing her.
Thank you Bruce! The photos tell so much about her. Your Mom was a second Mom to me and your parents became family as a result of my relationship with Sue. I am grateful to have enjoyed so many wonderful adventures with your Mom and Dad. They are forever with me.
I will always remember her smile and her bright eyes.
Dear Bruce, Our deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. She had a long and beautiful life, and she brought great children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to this world. Your photos tell the wonderful story of her life. Helen was always very proud and loved her.
Beautiful ❤️
