Warning, this image may haunt you: a typical dinner I cook up these days. Almost everything here would have terrified my taste buds 5 years ago:
List: grapefruit, sourcrout, salad, homemade yogurt (4 different, hopefully beneficial, bacteria) with kale and berries, kefir with beet juice and 20 different powdered supplements, homemade natto, vegetable pancakes with guac, vegetable casserole, herring or sardines, and liver/mushroom/onions!
I asked this chipmunk if he would like to join me for dinner. He politely said no thanks, he had plenty to eat:
A salamander like thing from the creek had a violent reaction just thinking about such a dinner:
Speaking of creek, I am still trying to perfect the pluming for the ponds and fountains, 3d printed a few new filters. Got them installed, but my shoes were not happy:
It is racoon breeding season. These cuties were not yet shy of humans:
My deck camera caught this guy trying to climb up to a bird feeder. I confess, I take pleasure in watching him fail:
James, our friend who bought our MN house also recently bought a Cybertruck. Its angular roofline perfectly matches the house’s roofline!
Closing forest stuff:
Bruce
Fun pics, Bruce! I hope you’re staying cool and not fermenting with the natto, kimchee and yogurt!
Glad you found a natto recipe.
Finally! Took a few months, but I finally figured out a reliable protocol.
I’m not fermenting … more like being sous vide-d (cooked) 🙂
Wow ! “20 different powdered supplements”
Yeah, likely too many. Hoping a few are beneficial and others are not harmful! I mix it in a big batch every few months.
I’m glad the salamander like thing isn’t actually dinner. My view of the captions for the pictures was a little off the first time I read this. It was horrifying. Like reading the captions as below the pictures they are associated with instead of above them. Is that convoluted enough? The latest story continues, with our hero Cary climbing and digging in sandstone cliffs. What will he discover?
Yeah, sorry, I can see how you might have interpreted I was eating gut-spewing-salamanders for dinner. Hope I didn’t spoil your dinner 🙂
Looking forward to reading your story!
